A natural gas pipeline explosion in the Houston area that triggered evacuations and drew a significant response from firefighters to contain the massive blaze. More than 24 hours later, the fire was still burning.
Four people were injured from the accident, including a firefighter for minor injuries. The four also includes two hospitalizations and two heat-related injuries.
Officials have confirmed the Park pipeline fire was caused by an SUV that drove through a fence and struck an above-ground valve.
The blast occurred about 18 miles east of Houston. According to reports from ABC13, the fire spread south beneath Spencer Highway, reaching into the neighboring city of La Porte, Texas.
Footage from the scene after the explosion showed a massive fireball shooting into the sky, with thick black smoke billowing over the area.
